The Road to Recovery

Now that the election is a few weeks behind us, I've taken a little time to absorb the results. I admit to a bit of apprehension as Obama started to bring former Clintonites into the fold, but as each day passes I find myself more impressed.

I went through a bit of withdrawal, wondering what I was going to do with myself now that the stress and excitement was over. Did this mean I had to get back to the house-wifey duties and get my house cleaned and the laundry washed? I knew I'd have to check the TV listings to see what was on besides Hardball, Meet the Press and Morning Joe (yes, I'm an MSNBC junkie).

I find myself checking in on MSNBC throughout the day again, trying to keep up with Obama's economic team appointments. I'm awestruck with how swift his response has been and the quality of the people he's bringing on board. While Bush has all but disappeared, Obama is there filling the void. I know the economy is going to get much worse and that we probably won't recover for a very long time. I am confident that we have a new administration poised to take control and begin to set things straight.

I feel like I'm watching history unfold before my eyes. What a wonderful thing we've been able to be a part of.
